Meet Dr. Jack Friedland
Dr. Friedland has been a frequent contributor, lecturer and participant in national and international Plastic Surgery symposia and conferences, and has visited several universities as a Traveling Professor, sponsored by national plastic surgery organizations. Dr. Friedland has written many articles which have been published in peer-reviewed journals and he has contributed to several textbooks. He is on the Editorial Board of several journals and he is the Review Editor of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery ®, which is the most prestigious journal of plastic surgery.Dr. Friedland has a special love for children and an interest in correcting congenital deformities. As a result, he has traveled to third world countries performing correction of congenital cleft lip and palate deformities. He is presently Chief of Plastic Surgery in the Children's Rehabilitative Services of Arizona. Though his clinics, the children from families who are financially less fortunate are able to receive the same quality care as those who seek his services on a private basis. Education After completing his undergraduate education at the University of Wisconsin (Madison; 1958-1961), he attended and graduated from Northwestern University Medical School (B.S. 1962; M.D. 1965), where he was elected to Alpha Omega Alpha, Honor Medical Society. He completed a straight surgical internship and general surgery residency at New York University-Bellevue Medical Center, followed by the completion of a plastic surgery residency at the Institute of Reconstructive Plastic Surgery in New York City.
